Since when are documentaries science? Are they peer-reviewed?

So these guys make a fairly persuasive argument that our current global climate warming trend is a result mainly of a hotter, more active sun (I didn’t watch the whole thing, but this is what I got from it). But still the majority of climate scientists seem to believe that it is in fact caused by extra CO2 in the atmosphere. Now I don’t know who is right, but considering the vast number of scientists who adhere to the greenhouse gas theory, should we not take action to avert a potential threat to the planet? We clearly do not understand everything about the planet we live on, so we have only our best informed guesses to go on. Is the development of renewable energy really such a bad thing, that the driving force behind it should be stifled?
Now I am a firm proponent in the search for truth, so I wish these scientists in the video the best of luck. If they are correct, the science will back them, and eventually the world will believe it. But if they are wrong and we choose to believe them and continue our ever increasing use of fossil fuels, we could be in for some interesting changes to our way of life in the coming decades and centuries.
I just don’t want our great grandchildren to look back on us and say, “Damn, why didn’t they do something to avert this mess?”
