Nothing New Here
Hot Air, links to a story showing that Palin, while make less than Biden, has donated significantly more in charity. They write:
Once again, we see that liberals talk about charity, and conservatives take action. The Palins have been quite generous with their cash, while Biden has given far less on an annual basis with a much larger income stream. Since the two Democrats keep claiming the charitable impulse for spending other people’s money, it’s revealing to once again compare Biden’s own personal giving to his political rhetoric, and to his opponent in November.
I’m curious how my readers on the left reconcile the fact that conservatives are more charitable then liberal despite liberal rhetoric to take care of the poor. The fact that liberals are less willing to donate charity implies that they simply want the state to use it’s power to force people to give money and less concerned with actually helping the poor. If it was merely a matter of helping the poor, then liberals would surpass conservatives in donations in helping the poor. However, since they fall behind in helping the poor through charity one might conclude their political rhetoric for helping the poor is more about forcing rich people to do their bidding then actually helping the poor.

The only stuides I’ve seen showing that are ones that counted the collection plate at church as a charity and did not count things like the ACLU orneedle-exchange programs. If you could find an actual study with well defined parameters, I’d be interested to see it.

You give an example of two individuals there… can you point me to data that employs a larger sample size?
Also, it seems to me that the candidates from -both- parties are making pretty wild promises about spending lots of other people’s money (promises they couldn’t -possibly- hope to keep).

I’m trying to understand why the VP is so important to you…. If this were a comparison of Obama vs. McCain it might be more timely. The fact that the blogosphere is looking for anything to hang their hats on with an underqualified and frankly moronic candidate speaks volumes about how much trouble the GOP is really in.

I don’t think Sarah Palin is a moron. I would like to add that I don’t think Barack Obama or Joe Biden are morons either. Do you honestly believe Palin is a moron?

Here you go 272 pages of evidence.

Moron might be a strong word, but I think you can agree that it is a sad day in American when one can claim victory in a VP debate for simply not looking foolish. Our are expectations that low?
