Good thing they do their business in the old fashioned way... without government subsidies... I'd hate it if the gov somehow were involved in their success...

I'm ambivalent about WalMart. On the one hand, they run an efficient operation and bring the lowest prices to the consumer.

On the other hand (and this happened in my home town), they come in with their low prices, put most other retailers out of business, then people have little choice but to work for WalMart, which as Jamie pointed out is a pretty crappy proposition when it comes to pay or benefits.

Now I know you're thinking, "They don't have to work for walmart, it's a free labor market." Well yes, it's true, I just can't be a WalMart cheerleader for that reason. And yes I know that paying their workers shit allows them to offer goods at lower prices. Thus my ambivalence.

This is refeshing to hear. Now the 57% of WalMart workers without health insurance might be able to get the drugs they need. I feel better.

I am getting so sick of Wall Mart. Why wont MSM or movie makers put something together talking about all the negative things Wal Mart does? I only hear positive stuff about them and I know that cannot be true. They exploit the poor and somebody needs to stand up for those poor fools who blindly shop their.
