Libertarians at Work
Much like gun control laws, setting up street cameras everywhere could offer safety benefits. Much like gun control laws, libertarians really don’t like the state trying to make their lives safer with cameras.

If we gran teh premise that living in a society where everyone can own guns won’t make you safer, then I care about my right to own guns way less than I care about my right to privacy. I guess you feel differently, even though you don’t own a gun?

so you are ok with the state monitoring your private phone calls and your internet activity without warrant or probable cause, but you’re not ok with cameras in public places? please explain.

To be perfectly frank I’m not happy with the state being able to listen to my phone calls. Even if I’m speaking internationally to a non-citizen. However, for the record, this program was under both judicial and legislative over sight. This is to say that the other two branches over government were keeping an eye on it’s use to insure that it was not being abused. Ultimately, though this practice should be phased out.
Given our intelligence efforts prior to 9/11 proved insufficient, what changes do you propose to the system to insure future terrorist acts are prevented.

Send a few good men to represent us to a new capital city in idaho. Make a law that politicians can live only in Woshington DC then black out that area (No media) and allow no reproduction or travel in that self serving money pit.

You can’t ensure future terrorist acts are prevented. No matter how hard you try you can’t. If enough people really want to get you, they will. All you can do is piss as few off as possible.
