Gunmen opened fire on students returning from a march Wednesday in which 80,000 people denounced President Hugo Chavez’s attempts to expand his power. At least eight people were injured, including one by gunfire, officials said.
Nothing like redistributing the wealth with bullets.

I’m unclear as to what your point is here. Could you clarify? Injury of protesters by police is hardly exclusive to socialist countries.

Saw your post after I posted mine, Darwin - actually, the Kent state shootings resulted in 4 deaths and 9 injuries, according to wikipedia. That’s more than zero deaths and eight injuries.
