Using Our Armed Forces to Do Good
This should piss Dan off pretty good.
It is the second incident of piracy reported in recent days. A second U.S. Navy destroyer was searching waters off Somalia for pirates who hijacked a Japanese-owned ship, military officials said.

I’m unclear as to why this should piss me off. I suppose a smaller patrol vessel would be a more cost-effective anti-piracy ship than an $800,000,000 destroyer, but you know… whatever floats your boat.

Using out military to help out other countries is the opposite of an isolationist policy. Hell you’re not even sure you would of intervened in WW2 a much more understandable example of turning away from an isolationist policy.

Use of naval forces in deterring piracy doesn’t have a whole lot in common with an amphibious invasion of a sovereign nation.
As for what I “would of” done? If you want to set up a hypothetical situation and ask me what I would do, you’ll have to explain what you are talking about:
1: At what date am I making this decision?
2: What information do I have to access to at this time?
3: Who am I? What sort of policy-making responsibility do I actually have, in whichever nation I apparently have the power to do something that involves making a foreign policy decision within? Or am I just an abstract personification of a particular nation in this hypothetical situation?
