For the Children

Bipartisan support for trampling the first amendment to protect the children. It like trampling the second amendment to insure children are not killed by gun violence. Just like it, except it does not enjoy bipartisan support.

Seriously though, why should this kind of thing be regulated at the federal level. Why not lets theses issues resolves themselves with more local government. Ever since its inception this country has been trending towards a large massive federal government. I can’t see any good reason for why this should be. Keep laws and regulations as local as possible to insure maximum efficiency.

Shit man, I don’t want local governments passing these kinds of laws either.

  2. darwin Says:

btw you’re right, looking at porn on the internet is ‘just like’ getting shot.

  3. steve Says:

Molesting a child after viewing porn on the internet is alot like shooting a child after purchasing a gun. You know what i mean.

‘”While filtering and monitoring technologies help parents to screen out offensive content and to monitor their child’s online activities, the use of these technologies is far from universal and may not be fool-proof in keeping kids away from adult material,” Sen. Inouye said.’

    What are you talking about?

  5. steve Says:

I was being more general. Just trying to say that i can chacterize first amendement restiction in a much more charitable way, kind of like you do for restiricting second amendement rights.

I dunno dude, I take your point about phrasing, but I can show a pretty strong correlation between people owning guns and people being shot by guns; I don’t think you’re going to find that rates of child molestation go up when internet pornography is made available.

  7. Trampage Says:

GUNS don’t kill people. Bullets do.
SPEED doesn’t kill people. Impact does.
    PORN doesn’t kill kids?

  8. steve Says:

I can find a strong correlation between pedophiles and owning child pornography.

  9. darwin Says:

I suspect that there’s less of a correlation than you think, simply becuase I don’t think many priests own computers… but yeah, child pornography is a different issue. I thought the article was talking about government-mandated filtering and monitoring systems, ostensibly to stop kids from seeing stuff.
