They forgot to say that in a world without America, the sea level around the world would drop dramatically due to the ocean rushing in to fill the giant void left by the dissapearance of the US ;and mass; further, much of Canad and Mexico along the new coastline would probably be flooded, killing millions. Of course this would open aup a gigantic new shipping lane between europe and japan, markedly changing the dynamics of international commerce.
Good point. All those colonial empires would have probably just forgotten how to make boats by now, if we weren’t around innovating for them; they’d probably barely be able to grasp how to start a fire by now.

Lets be honest, without America there would be no international commerce.
